Last updated 2025-9-25

PLEASE READ THIS USER AGREEMENT AND TERMS OF SERVICE CAREFULLY. BY USING HOGA, YOU AGREE TO IMPORTANT TERMS THAT AFFECT YOUR LEGAL RIGHTS AND LIMIT OUR LIABILITY.

Welcome to Hoga! These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Hoga mobile app, website, and related services (collectively, the “Platform”). By using Hoga, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

1. About Hoga
Hoga is a contribution management platform that allows organizers, collectors, and contributors to pool funds transparently for events and community projects. Payments can be made via mobile money (MoMo), cards, or recorded as offline cash.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an organizer or collector account.

Minors may contribute only with the consent and supervision of a guardian.

You must comply with applicable laws in your country when using Hoga.

3. User Roles

Organizers create “jars” (fundraising events or projects).

Collectors help record contributions (online and offline).

Contributors donate funds via the app or offline through collectors.

4. Payments & Fees

Contributions made through the Platform are processed via third-party payment providers.

A small transaction fee and platform fee may apply, which will be disclosed before payment.

Organizers may choose whether they or contributors cover the platform fee.

Hoga does not store or hold funds; all transactions are routed directly to the organizer’s designated account.

5. User Responsibilities

Provide accurate information when registering and using the Platform.

Use the Platform only for lawful purposes (e.g., no fraud, money laundering, or prohibited activities).

Respect community trust by keeping offline contributions accurately recorded.

6. KYC & Verification
Hoga may require you to complete Know Your Customer (KYC) verification before creating jars or collecting funds. This may involve identity checks using official IDs (such as Ghana Card).

7. Prohibited Activities
Users may not:

Use Hoga for illegal or fraudulent purposes.

Misrepresent contributions or falsify records.

Circumvent or manipulate the fee structure.

Harass or abuse other users.

8. Privacy
Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, and protect your information.

9. Disclaimers

Hoga is a platform, not a bank or financial institution.

We do not guarantee that fundraising goals will be met.

We are not responsible for disputes between organizers, collectors, and contributors.

10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Hoga is not liable for:

Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

Loss of funds due to errors by payment providers or users.

Misuse of funds by organizers.

11. Account Suspension & Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or applicable laws.
